Course Overview

Asbestos is one of the most dangerous building materials ever used, causing thousands of illnesses and deaths annually due to exposure. It was widely used in the construction industry until the year 2000.

The Control of Asbestos Regulations (CAR) apply to employers, employees, self-employed individuals, and duty holders, covering all work involving asbestos-containing materials. Regulation 10 of CAR mandates that employers provide adequate information, instruction, and training to employees liable to be exposed to asbestos. This includes maintenance workers and others who may come into contact with or disturb asbestos.

This Asbestos Awareness E-Learning course educates candidates about the risks of working with asbestos. It helps them recognize asbestos-containing materials, understand where asbestos was used, learn steps to minimize risks, and review the legislation related to working with asbestos.
