This course is approved by the following organizations: ETA Awards and CSCS. It is equivalent to 3 CPD units and is recognized by CITB & CSCS as meeting the Level 1 training requirement for the CSCS Green Card.

In the UK, numerous individuals are killed, injured, or suffer from work-related illnesses each year. Health & Safety is a significant concern that requires the combined efforts of the government, employers, and workers to reduce fatalities, accidents, and work-related illnesses. This online Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment E-Learning course is designed for those starting out in the construction industry. It can be part of an induction process or preparation for the online accredited exam. While the Level 1 Health & Safety in a Construction Environment course provides a qualification, it also supports the CSCS green card application. The course begins with an introduction to the legal aspects of health and safety, followed by risk assessment and safe working practices. It covers common construction hazards, including working at height, respiratory hazards, electrical, and chemical hazards.

Each module consists of videos and end-of-module questions. A required pass percentage must be achieved for each module to complete the course and access the certificate. You can only proceed to the examination upon successful completion of the course.
Note: you get 3 chances to achieve a pass on each module. If you fail a module more than 3 times you will have to contact us directly to arrange a module reset (unlock). A maximum of 3 module resets per course are permitted. If after 3 module resets another module is failed the course will be permanently locked and you will be considered to have failed the course. If you fail the course you will have to purchase another course licence and restart as you will not be permitted to undertake the examination.
Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Examination
After completing the video course, candidates can take the final exam online without attending a training or exam center. To take the exam, candidates need a PC, laptop, and broadband connection.
Examination Process
To undertake the online exam the following process must be followed:
- Complete the online course successfully.
- Receive an approved certificate upon passing.
- Contact Creative E Courses at 0203 432 3498 or support@creativeecourses.com to confirm course completion and certificate issuance.
- Creative E Courses will allocate the examination and provide the exam link.
- Log in to the examination page, follow the instructions, and show ID to start the exam.
The exam is live and can be taken at any time. The recording is sent to the assessor (VideoTile) for invigilation and marking. If the candidate fails, Creative E Courses will notify them, and they can choose to re-sit the exam for an additional fee. Cheating results in a ban from future exams taken this way. Upon passing, the accrediting body (ETA awards) reviews the exam recording and emails a certificate within 10 days, usually sooner.

Candidates should use an ethernet connection and run a connectivity test (detailed in Annex A of their joining instructions) before starting the course and exam. Creative E Courses Training is not responsible for broadband connectivity quality.
