Course Description:

The ‘Prevent Duty’ course focuses on the UK Government’s strategy to prevent radicalisation and terrorism through education and awareness. It begins with an overview of the Prevent strategy, highlighting the risks posed by extremism and the objectives aimed at safeguarding communities. Participants will learn about the risk-based approach to implementing Prevent, how to recognize signs of extremism and radicalisation, and the steps to take if concerns arise. The course also covers the Channel process, which provides support to individuals at risk of being drawn into terrorism, and emphasizes the promotion of British values as a counter to extremist ideologies.

Learning Objectives:
